

Implementation Training: This training is designed for teacher faculty advisors and student leaders who will be instructing the Freshman Focus curriculum. Trainers will guide participants through the following topics: (1) moving to the role of facilitator; (2) how to lead a class discussion so others will talk; (3) developing cooperative leadership; (4) skills and strategies to develop a comfort level talking in front of groups; (5) giving clear instructions; (6) differences in learning styles; (7) handling difficult situations; (8) talking about difficult topics; (9) curriculum topics and activities.
Coordinators Training: This training is designed for the school's Freshman Focus site coordinator. Trainers will guide participants through the following topics: (1) understanding the coordinator's role; (2) scheduling; (3) ordering materials and supplies; (4) logistics management.
Teacher as Coach Training: This training is designed for the teacher faculty advisors who will be instructing the Freshman Focus curriculum. Trainers will guide participants through the following topics: (1) the coaching role; (2) characteristics of leadership; (3) teaching leadership through Freshman Focus; (4) teacher/student leader relationships in Freshman Focus; (5) expectations for both the faculty advisor and the student leader; (6) building ownership; (7) conducting weekly staff meetings and planning activities.
Orientation Camp Training: This training is designed for teacher faculty advisors and student leaders preparing to lead a Freshman Focus orientation camp. Trainers will guide participants through the following topics: (1) working with a camp host; (2) roles of the faculty advisors and student leaders at camp; (3) camp logistics; (4) cheer & song practice.
